The Nonbinarian Bookstore is a queer, mutual-aid based bookstore in Crown Heights. This mural was painted in their children’s alcove.
Ancient Weirdos is a love letter to the weirdos that have preceded us, because we’ve always been here. Ever since there have been humans, there have been beautiful weirdos. It sometimes just takes a little digging. The creatures from the mural are selected from ancient manuscripts from all around the world, some a few thousand years old.
