During the book tour for The Warehouse, the wonderful Philadelphia Public Library approached us with the possibility of creating an accompanying art installation in their Arts and Literature Hall. The resulting installation, consisting of 9 immense panels to fit in each of the alcoves in the wall, surrounds viewers with the reality of the US carceral system. The spacing between the bunk beds is proportionate to the prison dorms of the Limestone Correctional Facility in Alabama, where over 300 people are housed in a single dorm. This installation was only possible with the generous support of Flower Shop Collective and Lane Sell of Shoestring Press.
